What shoes should I buy as a Running Athlete?
The best shoes for XC and Track & Field athletes (runners) are the shoes that are the right shoes for your feet!
REMEMBER, shoes only last 300-400 miles or one athletic season! You need new running shoes at the beginning of each new season…
Old shoes are the number one reason for injuries!
Some athletes and runners might also choose to buy spikes for use in their specific events. Spikes are super lightweight and have individual spikes that can be screwed into the bottoms of the shoes for additional traction. We recommend long distance spikes with an all rubber bottom (no plastic by the ball of the foot) and with removable spikes (not the permanent ones). Sprinter’s spikes have harder plastic soles. Talk to your coach if you have questions.
There are several running stores that specialize in, you guessed it, running shoes. When you go there they will watch you walk and run on a treadmill, possibly videotape you, and help you determine the correct shoe for your feet.
Once again shoes are very important.

Positive Thinking Practice: Realize Your Potential
By: Norman Vincent Peale
Experts generally agree that the average person uses only a fraction of their mental capacity. Some fix this at about 10 percent; a few raise it to 20 percent. No matter which percentage of brain power we use, it’s still a tragic situation. We should always aim to be all that we can be.
Here is one step you can take to maximize your potential.
Believe in yourself.
The first step to realizing your potential is to believe that you have potential, and you do! Choose to Do Hard Things.
